Toyota Hilux revealed in India, price will be be shared in March '22

Toyota has unveiled the most awaited lifestyle pickup truck Hilux in India. Toyota will announce the price of the Hilux in March 2022. Bookings are open and you can book one by paying Rs 1 Lakh as booking amount. Toyota Hilux will rival the Isuzu V-Cross in India.

Toyota Hilux Dimensions:

• Length: 5325mm

• Width: 1855mm

• Height: 1815mm

• Wheelbase: 3085mm

• Minimum turning radius: 6400mm

• Fuel tank capacity: 80L

Hilux is slightly longer than the V-Cross, though V-Cross is bit wider, taller and has 10mm extra wheelbase. 

Toyota Hilux exterior features:

Hilux being a pickup truck gets decent amount of features, upfront Hilux looks like a mixture of Innova and Fortuner in terms of design. It gets Trapezoid shaped grille upfront with chrome inserts, bumpers get piano black accents. At the center are the LED headlamps with DRLs and LED fog lights. Overall the car looks rugged from the front as it should be.

 

Coming to the side profile, it gets 18inch chrome alloy wheels, chrome door handles, black plastic claddings with sliver inserts, side footstep, large wheel arches and dual tone ORVMs. 

At the rear it gets LED taillamps, chrome rear bumper.

Overall the design is sharp and rugged just like how a pickup truck should look like, Toyota has used lot of chrome on this car.

Toyota will offer Hilux in only 2 variants, Standard and High. Here are list of features that each variant will offer.

Toyota Hilux color options:

Hilux is offered in 5 monotone color options, Emotional Red, White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Super White, Gray Metallic. Hilux Standard model is offered in only Super White option.

Hilux gets features like TFT instrument cluster with analogue dials, 8.0inch infotainment system with Android Auto & CarPlay, Steering mounted audio controls, Telescopic steering, Heat rejection glass, 6 speaker system, cooled glovebox, drive mode: ECO, PWR modes, 60-40 split seat. park assists, power steering.

Toyota Hilux Engine and Transmission:

Hilux gets a 2.8L Diesel engine which also does duty on Fortuner, produces 204hp and 420Nm of torque. With Automatic transmission torque output goes up to 500Nm. 

Hilux will be offered with a 6 speed manual and 6 speed Automatic transmission. 

Hilux is a proper off-roading vehicle and gets off-road features like,

• 2WD/4WD Electric control

• Electrically adjustable diff lock

Toyota Hilux Price & rivals:

As said Toyota hasn't revealed the price yet, Toyota will reveal it in March. We expect Hilux will start from Rs 29-30 Lakhs(ex-showroom), which will under the Fortuner and will rival the only pickup truck Isuzu V-Cross. Deliveries of Hilux will commence in March 2022, booking amount will be Rs 1lakh. 

Just like other Toyota cars, Hilux will be offered standard warranty of 3yrs/1 lakh kms and optional 5yrs/2.20 lakhs kms extended warranty. 

Hilux will be assembled at Toyota's Karnataka's plant, parts will come by CKD route and some of the parts will be shared by Fortuner.
