New i20 N Line





Hyundai had launched the i20 back in November 2020 and got good sales figures in Indian market. On Tuesday 24th August Hyundai has revealed the first N line model for India i.e. i20 N Line, comes with enhancements in design and features over the regular i20.




The N Lineup will be performance oriented cars by Hyundai, it will have sportier looks over regular model, it gets the new Chequered flag inspired grille with N Line logo, new dual tone bumpers and a red painted lower lip upfront. Rest of the things will be the same as regular model, no changes to the headlights.






Coming to the side profile, again the red colored look on the skirts, the ORVMs have been finished in black for dual tone paint options and it gets new N Line alloy wheels which are 16inch wheels and Front disc brakes with red calipers . It also gets N line batch on the fenders.





At the rear, it gets a spoiler with side wings, the N Line batch on the boot lid, slightly changed bumper and twin exhaust tip which is finished in chrome.



Interiors:

The seats get a new look with Chequred flag themed leather seats with red stitching, 3 spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and N line batch, gets red ambient lighting unlike blue on the regular i20. The red stitching continues on the arm rest on under gear knob leather, red accents/inserts on the AC vents, door. N line logo is also present on the gear knob. The digital instrumental cluster remains the same, Globally i20 N gets different instrumental cluster which is not been included in Indian model. Though it gets more information for driver's convince. It gets new voice commands to control the sunroof, navigation and Blue-Link commands.











Rest of the features remain the same like the regular i20 like:

Color Options:

The new i20 N will be offered in 4 monotone colors i.e. Thunder Blue, Fiery Red, Titan Grey and Polar White. Dual tone options will be offered too i.e. Thunder Blue with black roof, and Fiery Red with black roof.







Engine and Transmission options:

Under the hood the regular i20 gets 3 engine options, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 82bhp and 114 Nm of torque which is matted with 5 speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox

1.5L Diesel engine which produces 99bhp and 240 Nm of torque matted with a 6 speed manual transmission and 6 speed torque converter automatic.

It also gets a 1.0L turbo petrol engine which produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, it is offered with a 7 speed Dual clutch automatic transmission and a 6 speed iMT gearbox.




The new i20 N line will be performance centric car and will be powered by the 1.0L turbo petrol engine option only. It will have two transmission options DCT and iMT gearbox options.





    


Hyundai has improved the mechanics of the vehicle by adding more weight to the steering wheel, rear disc brakes, stiffer suspension. This will improve the driving dynamics of the car. As Hyundai had claimed that i20 turbo does 0-100kmph in 9.9 seconds.

Pricing:

The regular Hyundai i20 starts at 6.91 Lakhs- 11.40 Lakhs( ex showroom prices), the N line model will have 2 variants N6 and N8. N6 will be offered only with iMT gearbox and N8 will offer 2 options both DCT and iMT. Prices of N line are not been announced as Hyundai will be going to launch it in the September, it is expected at it will cost 50k-1 Lakh more that the regular on sale i20. 

This was the first N line Hyundai car revealed in India, we hope more N lineup cars will be brought to India as Hyundai sells i30 N, Kona N, Tucson N, i10 N etc.
