Tata Tiago NRG


 

Tata had launched the Tiago back in 2016 and Tata updated it every when and then, Tata had launched Tiago NRG back in Sep 2018, but didn't perform well in the market and Tata had to discontinue it. Now in 2021, Tata again re-launched the Tiago NRG by giving it some design tweaks, more ground clearance and much more.

Key differences:

NRG comes with same design, body structure as regular Tiago but Tata has given some Sportier looks to it.

Exterior changes:

  • It gets new front and rear bumpers with skid plate like look







  • It gets roof rails which are integrated with the roof
  • The roof is finished in black



  • It gets black cladding at the side of the vehicle
  • The ORVMs and door handles are being finished in black
  • NRG batching on the boot lid
  • Dual tone 15 inch Steel wheels instead of Alloy wheel on the regular Tiago




  • The ground clearance is been to 181mm, 170mm on the regular Tiago
  • Overall kerb weight is increased to 1006KG
  • According to Tata NRG gets dual path suspension


Interior changes:

  • NRG gets only 2 interior changes    
  • It gets Charcoal black interior scheme 




  • It gets Engine push start/stop button




Engine and Transmission:

  • NRG also continues to get the same 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. No changes to the engine performance.
  • It gets 2 transmission options, 5 speed manual and 5 speed AMT gearbox options as regular Tiago offers.


Colors:

NRG will be offered with 4 dual tone paints, Foresta green, Fire red, Snow white, Cloudy green.









Pricing and variants:

  • NRG will be offered only in 2 variants, 1 manual and 1 AMT model.
  • Tiago XZ plus manual variant costs 6.5 Lakhs, while Tiago NRG manual costs 6.57 Lakhs, 27k extra over Tiago.
  • Tiago XZ plus AMT costs 7.05 Lakhs, while Tiago NRG AMT costs 7.09 Lakhs.

  • Tata had launched NRG back in 2018 but it didn't perform well on papers, it resulted on only 10% of Tiago sales, later Tata decided to discontinue it. But now then NRG is being launched again, Tata is expecting good sales figures.


Who should consider Tiago NRG?

Tiago is one of the best selling compact hatchback, It is safest among all the compact hatchback. It has secured 4 stars in Global NCAP. Nowadays most of the people are considering safety as first priority, Tiago offers both safety and decent mileage, NRG is for the one who need compact hatchback with a roughed look, with good ground clearance, it offers great practicality at good pricing.
