HYUNDAI CRETA FACELIFT

AGaikindo Indonesia International Auto show(GIIAS) which was held on 11th Nov 2021, Hyundai revealed its Creta Facelift and lets find out what new changes it brings with it.

Hyundai Creta Facelift exterior details:

The 2nd Generation Creta was launched back in 2020 at Auto Expo 2020 and now Hyundai has given facelift to it. It gets new front and adds more features to compete against the rivals. The major changes are done to the exterior. The Creta facelift gets Tucson inspired front end design, It gets new parametric grille into which the DRLs are well hidden. Below that are the rectangular shaped LED headlights and turn indicators which are integrated into the bumper.

At the side, there are no changes. It continues to offer same side profile as current selling model.

At the rear there are few changes, the boot lid gets shaper look and cuts. Rest rear changes are similar, same tail lights and bumper.

Hyundai Creta Facelift interior details:

The dashboard design is similar to the current model, Hyundai has changed the interior color scheme to black rather continuing to offer the dual tone color scheme. We are not sure whether the model displayed at GIIAS is Turbo or a non Turbo variant. Have to wait till India launch.

The steering losses on flat bottom and now it is circular just like Hyundai i20 N line and it gets new digital instrument cluster from Alcazar. Rest all features are similar to the on sale model, it still continues to offer 10.25inch infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, Bluelink connected car technology, Air purifier, Bose sound system, ventilated seats and more.

Safety features:

The Creta facelift gets a major addon of ADAS that will offer things like lane keep assists, blind spot monitor, forward collision warning and emergency braking system. This ADAS features will be added to Indian model as well. Rest all safety features are similar to the current model.

Hyundai Creta Facelift Engine and transmission options:

In Indonesia Hyundai offers only 1 powertrain option i.e. 1.5L Naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Indonesian market doesn't get a diesel and Turbo petrol powertrain. Though the Indian Creta facelift will get 3 powertrain options, 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L Diesel and 1.4L Turbo petrol engines.

Hyundai Creta Facelift price and Indian launch date:

As it was reveal of the car and not a proper launch, Hyundai has not revealed the prices. We expect that in India the car will cost 40k-50k extra on the current selling model. Lets wait for the Indian launch, it may launch in mid 2022.

Conclusion:

The Creta facelift now looks better from the front. In India customers complained about front look of the current on sale Creta, as we know Creta's design is polarizing and takes time to grow on you.  It is a hit or a miss design for the customers. Hyundai has addressed this issue and they have given new face for Creta. Lets see if facelifted model can impress those customers or not. Hyundai Creta is highest selling crossover in India, though MG has launched a great car in this segment at a great price and also offers ADAS at a aggressive pricing. Now then Hyundai has also added the ADAS features to its Creta,
