Today Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2nd generation Celerio hatchback, gets new features, design and engine. Gets new design and dimensions and also gets new engine with fuel economy improvements. Will rival the Tiago, Santro and Datsun Go.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Exterior:
The new Celerio is now slightly bigger than the previous generation. The new Celerio is 55mm wider than old model, 10mm extra wheelbase than old one. The ground clearance has increased 5mm than old model. New Celerio dimensions:
Length: 3695mm
Width: 1655mm
Height: 1555mm
Wheelbase: 2435mm
Ground clearance: 170mm
Tire size: 15inch
Maruti has totally re-designed the Celerio now, it gets major overhaul. The front gets new oval headlights, new grille with chrome assets, the bumper is also new, gets black treatment with new fog lamp housing.
At the side, it gets new 15inch black alloy wheels in the higher model. The door handles are now lift-up type than the pull-on ones which is not a good thing. It gets request sensor on the driver side door handle too. The turn indicators are placed on the ORVMs.
Coming to the rear part, it gets rounded tail-lights and new rear bumper design. Overall the design is now roundish and curvy sculptured all around than sharper design of previous generation.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio color options:
The new Celerio will be offered in 6 monotone color options, Silky Sliver, Glistening Grey, Caffeine Brown, Fire Red, Speedy Blue and Artic White.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Interior:
The new Celerio gets new interiors too, the dashboard is tweaked slightly. It gets new AC vents with silver inserts around them. The interior is blacked out unlike black and beige themed interior scheme. Major addition is 7.0inch SmartPlay studio with navigation, Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It also gets engine Push/Start button.

The Celerio is built on the Heartect platform on which almost all Maruti Suzuki cars are built. We can expect similar safety and build quality as WagonR or Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Engine and Transmission options:
New Celerio gets new engine under-hood, K10C DualJet 1.0L naturally aspirated 3 cylinder engine producing 67bhp and 89Nm of torque. The engine is the Naturally aspirated version of Turbo petrol engine which was used in discontinued Baleno RS. Maruti Suzuki claims 26.68kmpl of fuel efficiency on Vxi AMT variant. Rest other variants deliver mileage between 25kmpl-24kmpl.
The engine will get both Manual and AMT based automatic transmission options.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio variant wise price:
New Celerio starts at Rs 4.99 Lakhs and goes up to Rs 6.94 Lakhs(ex showroom price).
The prices of the New Celerio have increased when compared to old generation. This time again Maruti Suzuki has put all efforts in improving fuel efficiency than safety. Maruti has also added some new features to it. The Celerio competes with Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro, Datsun RediGo. If safety is your main priority then Tiago is the safest option. Santro offer great features and also come with CNG option. If you want a car for city purpose or as a secondary vehicle and expect good mileage and good after sale service then Celerio is good choice.
