Tata is planning to launch Safari Dark edition on Jan 17th. Tata have launched 4 cars in this Dark edition portfolio back in 2021. Tata launched Harrier, Altroz, Nexon and Nexon EV in Dark edition form. Tata excluded Safari has it was newly launched then. Safari had received a Gold Edition in Black color during the IPL season but that wasn't proper Dark edition. Now today Tata have teased that they will bring Safari in dark form, lets find what's new.

Safari Dark Edition details:

Mechanically no new changes to the car, all they changes are cosmetically done. Safari dark will look similar to the Harrier Dark edition. Upfront the Chrome grille will be replaced by a gloss black finish, front skid plate will also have black treatment.

Coming to side, Dark edition Safari will get a #DARK badge, 18inch blacked out alloys, blacked out door handles instead of chrome on the standard edition. Interior will also get black color scheme just like Harrier dark.

At the rear only bumper is finished in black rest all will be the same as regular model. Just like Harrier Dark, Tata will offer Dark edition with XZ and XZ+ variants only. Tata will price Rs 30k-40k extra for Dark edition over regular Safari.

Will it have any new features?
As XUV700 is leading the game by loads of Tech features, safety features with ADAS, We expect Tata will not add any features with this Dark edition, instead they will keep them for the facelift, we don't know exactly. We expect Tata will add features from Gold edition to Dark edition like ventilation for 2nd row seats, air purifier.

Safari's some of the features: 18inch alloy wheels, JBL audio system, panoramic sunroof, 9.0inch infotainment system, leather seats, electrically adjustable driver seat, wireless phone charger.

Engine & Transmission:
As said above Safari Dark will not get any mechanical change, it will continue to come with 2.0L Diesel engine which produces 170hp & 350Nm of torque. It is offered with 6speed manual & 6speed Torque Automatic transmission.

What you guys think about the New Safari Dark edition, will Tata manage to attract XUV 700 consumers towards Safari?
