Maruti Suzuki Baleno 2022 launched at Rs 6.35 Lakhs

Maruti Suzuki finally launched the new 2022 Baleno under the Nexa dealership, price starts from Rs 6.35 Lakhs(ex-showroom). New Baleno gets a revision in design, features and price too. This is not a next generation Baleno instead it is a facelift version by Maruti Suzuki. Baleno gets features where some of the features are first in segment.

One of the major changes Baleno has received is change in design, the new Baleno now looks sharper when compared to old one. The changes are very significant over the older Baleno. Upfront Baleno gets new grille which is honeycomb patterned with silver accents and a camera unit at the center. Baleno gets a new pair of LED headlights and fog lights, DRLs too are new. The bumper too is re-designed, the bonnet is now sharper and gets sharp cuts for better looks and aerodynamics. 

Coming to side profile, the door frame extends above the windows, camera unit under the ORVMs, chrome strip which connects both the doors now extends till c pillar. It gets new 16inch alloys. 

At the rear it gets new C shaped LED taillights, new rear bumper, chrome strip which connects both the taillights. From rear too Baleno feels sharper and bolder now. 

2022 Baleno exterior color options:

Baleno gets 6 monotone color options, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Sliver, Grandeur Grey, Opulent Red and Luxe Beige. 

2022 Baleno interior:

When you enter the new Baleno you will notice the new three tone dashboard which is finished in black on top, silver insert at the center and blue finish at the bottom. Now it gets 9.0inch floating infotainment system with Maruti's SmartPlay Pro+ system, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The unit also comes with Amazon Alexa support. Baleno now gets 360 degree parking camera with multiple view options. 2022 Baleno gets a connected car technology Suzuki  Connect. 

Baleno now gets a flat bottom steering wheel which is a telescopic unit with audio controls and cruise control. Behind the steering wheel is a segment first feature i.e. a heads up display which shows map directions, rpm, gearshift indicator and speed. 

With that an auto dimming IRVM, Auto AC, keyless entry with push button start, dual tone door panels, blue leather seats, new AC controls, rear AC vents with USB A and C type charging options, 60:40 spilt rear seat and more. 

2022 Baleno safety features:

Baleno gets safety features like ABS, EBD, 360 degree parking camera, ESP, brake assists, dual Airbags(Sigma, Delta models), 6 Airbags(Zeta and Alpha models only). ISOFIX mounts and all wheel disc brakes.  

2022 Baleno engine & transmission options:

New Baleno is powered by 1.2L K12 DualJet 4 cylinder petrol engine which produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque. 

The engine is matted with a 5 speed manual and 5 speed AMT gearbox which is replaced with CVT unit. Mileage with 5 speed manual is 22.3kmpl and 22.9 with AT(ARAI claimed figures).

2022 Baleno price and competitors:

Baleno 2022 will continue to compete with rivals like Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Glanza and Honda Jazz. Baleno's range starts much cheaper than rest all its competitors except Altroz. Tata Altroz is safer amoung all the cars and question still arises that how safe is the new Baleno? MS has managed to put lot of safety tech like 6 Airbags and more but how well the structure is the question ? Soon Toyota will bring Baleno Facelift with Glanza's naming.
