Tata Motors is leading the EV game in the Indian market. Their Nexon is really doing well and being a cheapest and largest selling EV in the market. Lot of other carmakers are really trying to leap ahead in the EV game and Tata Motors is one of them. Now they are planning to reveal new EVs in the month of April. Tata will reveal the concepts of the new EVs this month. Tata has plans to unveil 3 new EVs, Nexon long version, Sierra EV and more.

Tata is been selling EVs like Nexon, Tigor in their EV line-up. Tata Nexon. The new EVs will go on sale from 2024. Tata had plan of revealing the concepts in Auto Expo 2022 but as we know it got postponed to 2023, so Tata decided to hold a event and unveil their new EV concepts.

Tata Nexon Coupe:

Tata has officially revealed a teaser of their Nexon Coupe EV. It is powered by Ziptron technology like the old Nexon EV. The coupe version will be longer than the original Nexon and its dimensions will fall into mid-size SUV segment. The teaser shows its modern looks, long LED strip in the center connecting the DRLs and triangular LED fog lights are the only hints. Let's hope this concept makes it way to final production unit.

The car will also equip with large battery and fast charging than the ongoing Nexon EV. The ongoing model packs a 30.2 kWh battery and 312km of range. The newer model will offer more range and power. The current model electric motor produces 127hp and 245Nm of torque.

Sierra EV:

Tata showcased the concept version of Sierra EV at Auto Expo 2020. The concept design was close to the Sierra 1991, Tata will carry the same design in the final model too. Sierra will be based on Sigma platform which is based on ALFA platform on which most of Tata cars are been built. Tata has engineered such that it is well optimized for battery operated vehicles by removing transmission tunnel, fuel tank and much more.

The platform is totally for future electric vehicles, Nexon is not built on this platform though. It is built on ICE EV platform. Sierra will be first car to be built on Sigma EV platform until then other EV cars launching before it will be built on ICE EV platform. Tata will build 5 door version and not 3 door which was launched back in 1991.

Tata may also launch the electric version of Altroz in its new EV line-up. Altroz EV will be only EV in the segment if launched, Tigor is also one and only EV in its segment. Tata is really doing well in EV field. What you guys think about Electric vehicle development.
